Celebration for a King

This past Sunday at 4:00 and 9:00 PM, Celebration for a King premiered on WNIT Public Television.

The film is presented by Dr. Marvin Curtis and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and produced in collaboration with Chuck Fry, Ryan Blaske, and me.

The hour-long special was filmed across three concerts at local churches in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and features symphonic music from composers of African descent, gospel music from each church’s choir, a guest solo from Julliard violist Cameren Anai Williams, and interviews with Marvin Curtis, Justus Zimmerman, Emorja Roberson, and Turrell O’Neal.

It is the company’s second film released on Juneteenth, following last year’s A Juneteenth Celebration.
