Morning Stroll in Miami Village
A couple of weeks ago, I met up with Ryan Blaske and Nik Guiney for a Saturday morning stroll in Miami Village. Ryan recently published a story titled Seeing Beauty on the Streets of South Bend about their photo walks together, so I wanted to join the action.
Miami Village is a neighborhood on South Bend’s southeast side anchored by a string of storefronts, churches, homes, and a cemetery along Miami Street. Our studio isn’t too far away on Sample Street, so this has become one of my favorite spots for strolling.
At once, the neighborhood represents what this city once was and what it could be.
What follows is a sequential selection of photos captured between Broadway and Fox Streets. Ryan and Nik both used film cameras, Canon AE-1 and Olympus Stylus Zoom 140, respectively, and I used a Fujifilm X100V.
