Washington High School, home of the Panthers, is one of South Bend's four public high schools and is proudly located on the city's West side.

The Panthers are no stranger to success on the court. Washington's boys hold 9 conference championships and the girls boast WNBA alumni Skylar Diggins and Jacqueline Batteast. Head coach Chad Johnston welcomed me to a recent practice - what I witnessed is recorded below.

Despite being 9-10 overall and 5-5 in conference games, Washington is stacking up well going into post-season play. "Washington makes Riley sweat" was the headline after a recent crosstown game against the one-loss Wildcats who stand as the favorite to win conference and sectional trophies.
