Welcome to our first musical feature.

If you know me, you know that I typically occupy my ears with the likes of Oddisee, Frank Ocean, Lorde, and controlled doses of Mr. West. This background makes Chicago-based duo Frances Luke Accord (FLA) a potentially odd feature, considering that they come bearing a "charming approach to low-key folk" and are often likened to Simon & Garfunkel.

What isn't surprising about this connection – they're from South Bend. We met through the Birdsell Project in 2016, and I have since enjoyed a number of their (captivating) live shows – the next of which is happening tomorrow, September 22, at Ignition Garage in Goshen.

Ahead of this Ignition show we explored an old roundhouse together and, of course, made photographs.
