Artists continue to show up as some of the most committed and generous members of our community.

Today, local painter Alex Ann Allen announced a raffle for her new piece titled George Floyd, with 100% of the proceeds going to Black Lives Matter South Bend.

George Floyd was a Black man who was murdered by a Minneapolis police officer on Monday, May 25th. In the wake of his death, protests calling for justice and an end to police violence are happening around the world, including here in South Bend. These protests are, in large part, organized by local Black Lives Matter chapters.

The painting is 30x40” oil on stretched canvas. Tickets are $10 each for a chance to win, and those who purchase three tickets will receive a print of the painting. The raffle will be live on GoFundMe for three days, after which Alex will draw a winner.

In the four hours since she posted it, 40 people have donated over $1,300. Support this.
